Crystal's ULTIMATE CHEESEBURGER

A classic burger is a great starting place for getting creative when you find you actually have the time to cook. We came up with what we are now calling The Triple S Farms Ultimate Burger!

With my teen home all the time now, we have been having many more cooking lessons. We call it learning how to adult! We decided to experiment with his favorite food in the world...a burger.

A classic burger is a great starting place for getting creative when you find you actually have the time to cook. We came up with what we are now calling The Triple S Farms Ultimate Burger!

We started with Triple S Farms ground beef and then added some of our favorite burger toppings IN the ground beef. Bacon was both of our #1 choice, so we decided to spice it up a bit by using jalapeño bacon. Then, we wanted to add something acidic to help cut through the fat and pickles seemed the logical choice, but we love spice so we decide to ramp up the heat and use pickled jalapeños. Lastly, we agreed that cheese was a must! So instead of going the ooey-gooey route, we went with a strong, dry cheese.

Now onto the toppings! Tomatoes are not always the best this time of year, so as an alternative, to replace the sweetness you get from a tomato, we like caramelized onions. Also, we needed something to cool down our tongues, so we topped it with a homemade yogurt ranch dressing. Fortunately, we had these delicious buns from a local baker! We could not be more pleased with the results of our experiments! What recipes have you been experimenting with lately? TRIPLE S FARMS ULTIMATE CHEESEBURGER 1 lb. Triple S Farms Ground Beef 1 lb. favorite Triple S Farms bacon, barely undercooked & chopped 1/3 C. Pickled Jalapeno(or favorite pickle), chopped 1/2 C. Shredded Romano Cheese(or favorite cheese) 1/2 tsp. Black Pepper 2 Large Onions, sliced Salt & pepper, to taste 1 tsp. Dried Thyme 4 Tbs. Ranch Dressing 4 Hamburger Buns, toasted Lettuce leaves Mix together ground beef, bacon, pickles, cheese, and black pepper. Form mixture into 4 patties and chill for 2-4 hours, to help patties keep their form and stay together while cooking. Meanwhile, add 1 Tbs. of your leftover bacon grease to a medium skillet and heat over medium-low. Add onions, salt & pepper and sauté, stirring often, for 20-25 minutes, till they are soft and caramel colored. Add thyme in last few minutes of cooking. Set aside. Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Make sure you get it nice and hot so you can get a good sear and achieve optimum caramelization. Add patties and DON’T TOUCH for 5 minutes! Turn patties over and cook till desired doneness. Build your burger and enjoy!
